Frinton’s got talent

We are the Haven In Romania Free Youth team for 2008! We are very excited about our trip to Romania in August. We have organised this concert on Saturday 28th June to raise both money and awareness of our work with Haven in Romania.
All the money raised will go towards transport and materials used to provide the children from the local orphanage in Piatra Neamt with a weeks worth of kids clubs; including crafts, games and sweets but also the opportunity to go out for trips and have a meal with the team each day, experiences they are not usually privileged with.

We will also get the opportunity to work alongside haven in Romania ad the two separate foundations they run. Firstly HSB is a community home care project for the elderly working in Piatra Neamt and the surrounding villages. HSB Provides basic medical, domestic and pastoral support to those who otherwise would not receive any care or support. We are exploring the possibility of expanding to create a HSB day centre.

While the Silvia day centre is a safe happy environment for children with special needs. The children attending the day centre have disabilities ranging from Downs Syndrome, to autism, to mental trauma. They come for education, speech therapy and now have a sensory room and garden to stimulate them further, while the parents receive support, education and hope from the specialists who visit every few months.
